Process Flowcharting Links
"Business Process Model and Notation" (BPMN™) Standard
The suite of BPMN symbols is included in all major flowcharting software programs (e.g., EDraw, Visio with BPMN). Also, everal free and/or inexpensive online Flowcharting applications are available, such as:
Legacy Flowcharting Symbols (ISO 5807:1985)
While still valid, ISO 5807:1985 (re-affirmed in 2019) is extremely antiquated.
Flowcharting Symbology / Conventions (Based upon ISO 5807:1985)
Preference should be given to using the OMG “Business Process Model and Notation” (BPMN™) standard for flowcharting your processes.
You may wonder that if ISO 5807:1985 is so antiquated, why hasn't ISO adopted BPMN. It has. ISO/IEC 19510:2013 (reaffirmed in 2022) is identical to OMG BPMN 2.0.1… which is a free download.
Then why should you pay for “ISO/IEC 19510:2013, Information technology — Object Management Group Business Process Model and Notation” when the more current OMG BPMN 2.0.2 is a free download from https://www.omg.org/spec/BPMN?
The only answer I can offer is that ignorance (and resistance to change) can be expensive.
